Combat Sports

The Combat Sports Industry is evolving and Jason has been at the forefront of the legal and business happenings behind it. Specifically, the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (“MMA”) has grown exponentially since the late 1990s.

Jason Cruz writes about the business and legal aspects of MMA on the popular web site MMAPayout.com. The web site is widely used in the combat sports industry by journalists, insiders, promotions and managers. Cruz has been interviewed by the Washington Post, New York Times, Bloomberg and The Verge about the sport and his commentary on the industry has been cited in numerous online and print outlets.

He also has served as a consultant within the mixed martial arts industry.

In 2019, Jason released a book entitled, “Mixed Martial Arts and the Law:  Disputes, Suits and Legal Issues.” The book is available on Amazon and McFarland Books.
